“Comin’ thru” is about the process of having to let go of your inhibitions and the things that keep you emotionally guarded in the beginning of a new relationship; two examples from the song are past trauma from previous relationships and the preservation of one’s focus on their goals and aspirations. The premise of the whole song is that you met someone new, and they made you realize that the thoughts of the past and what is to come are completely irrelevant when it feels right in the moment At the end of the day, when your intuition is telling you that something brings light into your life, it doesn’t make sense to let events that only exist in your mind govern your choices in the now.
