Ever since I heard ‘California,’ I’ve been quick to think of yung sum as one of my favorite upcoming artists. His blend of indie pop, alternative hip-hop sounds is like no other, complimented with sheer emotion in every release.

‘people think i’m okay, i’m not’ details such a personal side of yung sum, giving the listener a deep dive into his mental health and perspectives on life. It’s truly incredible. I also love how the nature of the beat carries a calming melody, which gives such a sweet, simple undertone to his otherwise heavy storytelling in the lyrics. Major hats off to yung sum for always keeping it real in his music. Check this one out if you haven’t yet!

Lyrics That Stick:

“Maybe I'm just hungry for the fame, I guess I am

Hungry for a name, oh yes, I am”
