When we are young, we are always told that we are “special”, and that we can achieve anything we want in life. Although I get the sentiment behind it, these forms of affirmation can sometimes cause us true pain when things don’t pan out the way they are supposed to. This week, I was blessed to come across an emerging artist that penned a single that describes this feeling.
Debuting on our pages, rising singer/songwriter, palmboy, has us in awe with his anthemic new single “complacent”. The record is an alt-rock masterpiece carried by lush melodies, engaging guitars riffs, and a hook that’ll make you want to run through a brick wall. If you are someone who is coming to terms with the fact that you may never be happy with your own level of success, turn this record up and rock out. The overall build up of the song is exceptional, and I love the subject matter of the songwriting. The record offers listeners a solution in the fact that we deserve to be complacent at times and it’s okay to be “appreciative” with where you’re at in life.
