For the last two years, Tik-Tok has served as an app that has helped many artists emerge with viral hits. From Arizona Zervas to Trevor Daniel, we have seen artists grow fanbases and communities around their music, and the app has helped bridge the gap for independent artists to flourish in the mainstream. While scrolling through the app, I came across a new song that has so much potential to be the song of the summer. That song is ‘Nightstand’ by emerging Raleigh, NC singer/songwriter Justus Bennetts.
Sitting at almost 320,000 streams on Spotify alone, ‘Nightstand’ is a beautiful song about a one-night stand turned into a full-on relationship. The song is bubbly and it has a catchy hook that will have you singing from start to finish. The production is smooth and Justus’ versatility to sing and rap on the track makes it everything you want in a song. With summer around the corner, I can already tell this is what everyone will be playing.
Lyrics That Stick:
“One night, 2:00 a.m
I got three grams rolled up
Take my hand we gonna slow dance
Look what I did, I've done it over again (All over again)
It wasn’t the plan until you said so
Thought I was the man until I met you”
