Surfaces - Next Thing (Loverboy)

When it comes to Surfaces, I always find myself looking forward to whatever the ‘Next Thing’ is that this dynamic pop duo puts out. Their latest one is a beautiful ballad of romance and yearning to be someone’s first choice.
The solemn guitar plucking sets a really cool emotional scene off the bat the way it has a bright texture, yet a certain sadness to it. As Surfaces then graces us with their intimate storytelling and smooth vocals, it comes together in the best way. I think just about everyone can relate to this one when they sing about not wanting to be ‘the next thing’ a love interest decides on if their first choice didn’t work out.
