Laeland Combines With Skinny Atlas On His Latest Single, “Are We Wasting Our Time Again?”

Have you ever been a relationship where you didn’t know if it was smart to move on or continue to build? Although relationships can hold a weight on our hearts, there is so much nuance that goes into the decision process when you are in one. Especially if you are in a relationship that went from friends to lovers back to friends. The emotional feelings are there, but is it smart to want to purse a romantic connection after recovering? This week, Laeland & Skinny Atlas dropped an emotional single that answers these questions called “Are We Wasting Our Time Again?”.

The single’s title imposes a great question that can be asked in all relationships. It’s direct and it begs the audience to relate to their own lives. Throughout the song’s duration, the singers discuss feelings of doubt when trying to repair or decide the future of a relationship. The track carries an alternative R&B undercurrent, with a quirky up-and-down guitar riff giving way to Laeland’s
breathy vocals. This is what Laeland had to say about the song:

“At this point in the relationship, two people are at an impasse,” he shares. “They’ve been in the relationship,
got out of the relationship, and are messing with the idea they can be close or intimate with one another
again. You wonder how it’s going to end up. It’s difficult to just be friends, because they love each other in
a certain type of way. So, you’re opening up a dialogue.”
