We all know everyone wants what they can’t have. Are we as open with that fact as kkanji is? Probably not, but that’s what makes him an amazing artist. His current song “Picture of you,” is so simple and relatable, kkanji being as honest as he can. There’s such a effortless, coastal sound to a song that’s meaning is anything but carefree.

All he wants is his ex back. He’s very aware that both their friends are against this relationship, but he’s down bad and doesn’t care. There’s something so vulnerable in the feeling of craving someone you can’t have. It’s as though everything you once thought is out the window and a new person, with a different thought process has taken over. You can feel that within the way kkanji has gotten to the point of obsessing over what he wants.
