Floyd Fuji Blesses Us With His Soulful Sound On His New Single “INSIDE”

As someone who spends their time searching for innovative new artists with the sound of tomorrow, it often gets hard to truly find great records that keep me yearning for more. I don’t if it’s because of oversaturation or my taste of music always changing, but I feel like I’m always searching for something that one artist that will make me a fan on the first listen. This week, I was blessed to find an artist that has everything I’m looking for, and his name is Floyd Fuji.
Born in Richmond, Virginia, and molded in its skate parks, singer-songwriter and guitarist Floyd Fuji (Kyle Thornton), crafts R&B uninhibited by typical expectations of the genre. He is inspired by an eclectic collection of greats like the Isley Brothers, D’Angelo and Two Door Cinema Club, and he allows his inspirations to blend with his own originality within his songs.
Now, the rising star is back with his latest release “INSIDE”, and it details a conversation between two partners learning all parts of each other. The track is evocative, soulful, and romantic with buttery audio. In addition, his lush melodies and mature songwriting allow the song to standout amongst everything coming out at the moment. Overall, this has to be one of our favorite songs of the week, so add it to your playlists.
