What did you grow up listening to? I recall my answer to that question depending on which family member or friend I was with at the time, but I remember vividly that my mom would always play 90’s R&B music through her speakers which were cranked just loud enough to be able to be heard in every room of the house. I loved it, I would catch myself dancing while doing my chores or homework, and looking up the lyrics of songs to seem cool for being hip and not having to ask her what it was called. For Matte I can see we might’ve grown up in similar households because his new jam “Innocent” is full of those old school vibes and I’m loving it.
Opened up with an ear catching sample, that only gets complimented by soul sparking guitar strums and classic R&B grooving drums, "Innocent” is a recipe for a hit.
