Sometimes when it comes to relationships, we all get stuck in that awkward moment where we try and identify what the end game is. Is this relationship good for me, or do I just stay in it because I’m scared of the unknown? Those are the questions asked when you get to that unknown period. With his new single ‘I Love You, But..’, singer/songwriter, Josh Golden, drops a relatable yet emotional single on the cost of wanting to stay in an unhealthy relationship.
Within the two and a half minute runtime of the song, Josh discusses how this person knows him well but he understands that being with them is no good for his mental health. He embraces the fact that the person’s insecurities and need to blame things on him is no help for his own well-being. These emotions are expressed with his smooth melodies and the trap influenced pop production. Although the song is more introspective lyrically, the sonics of the beat are innovative and it helps create a song that is very memorable. With that being said, if you are looking for a new break-up song add this right now!
Lyrics That Stick:
“I love you but I hate the way you make me feel
I want you but you’re no good for my mental health”
