DOVVYDOTCOM Rises To The Occasion On His Latest Single “ilikehowu”

Dov Sikowitz, aka DOVVYDOTCOM, is Los Angeles-based songwriter, singer, and producer. Ever since falling in love with music at a young, he has spent his formative years perfecting his craft into what it is today. When it comes to his sound sonically, it lands somewhere between psychedelic and pop with elements of of everything from punk and soul. Now, he debuts on our pages with his latest single “ilikehowu”, and it’s one of my favorite recent finds.
In ilikehowu, DOVVYDOTCOM draws you in by making you feel like he is performing right there beside you as he talks behind the electric piano. He dives into feelings of being stuck in a place yet he is somehow spiraling in his mind. The electric piano and drums compliments the storyline and vocals, allowing you to fall deeper into the meaning of the song. Still stuck in his head, DOVVYDOTCOM discusses his feelings towards someone who he thinks only understands him. His recklessness of making mistakes is made up for him being wise in choosing to put his feelings and energy into someone who cares, allowing him to have hope in the madness. Nearing the end of the song, you are brought in by a piano melody, making you feel that initial warmth and intimacy of hearing the background vocals in the beginning. The song structure of drawing you in, letting you go, and drawing you back in again with personal effects depicts how DOVVYDOTCOM feels a sense of closeness and distance to someone he longs for.
