Mills - Hollow

Born and raised in Bowling Green, KY, and having spent some time in Los Angeles, singer-songwriter Mills starts 2021 by delivering a nostalgic story of heartbreak with his new single "Hollow". While on the surface it feels like a ballad, this song takes me back to my first love. A feeling that feels all too relatable when listening to this song.
With his confessional storytelling and his ability to create smooth harmonies that evoke the 1970's era of Laurel Canyon, Mills shows maturity by admitting to his mistakes and clearly understanding his new reality. Although the production is warm, the juxtaposition between the warmness of the production and the overall story of finally letting go of a relationship makes this song so inviting. That keen ear for detail and the refreshing sound to create a moment make "Hollow" such a timeless record. With "Hollow" being the first single off of Mills' upcoming EP Train of Thoughts, I can only imagine how good the rest of the project will be. Check this vibe out ASAP!
Lyrics That Stick:
“So you want to talk about it
I've been dreading this all week
I've tried to drown it
Still can't find the words to speak”
