Cyrus - Heartbeat
By: Trevor Siebold IG/Twitter: @barelytrev
Cyrus has been the do-it-all artist since I’ve known him the past year or so. He’s the type of dude to record a podcast, go crazy on Twitch, then turn around drop an absolute hit like it’s nothing! ‘Heartbeat’ is equally catchy as it is unique, and packs a whole punch of good energy.
I’ve always been a huge fan of Cyrus’ personal, matter-of-fact songwriting. He’s never been one to shy away from vulnerability and detail in his music, which always creates such a relatable environment for the listener! I can perfectly envision the scene for this song through depictions of ‘coffee shops’ and sand on his carseats from being a ‘beach bum.’ Not to mention how insanely fire the end of the second verse is, when Cyrus kicks it into double time and effortlessly raps with Flash-like speed!
Overall, this song is the perfect display of Cyrus’ versatility and knack for hit-writing. If you haven’t given it a listen yet, do so ASAP!
Lyrics That Stick:
“I’ve been trying to cover my bases
Been jogging, ducking fly-balls
My life is like a home-plate,
if you want to slide through, then let’s get involved”
