Gracie Abrams is asking for a “Death Wish” in her latest live release

Gracie girl has done it again. Her latest song, “Death Wish,” which was only released live from The O2 Arena, is a sad girl’s dream. She dug deep for this one and brought us, maybe, the most vulnerable we’ve heard from Abrams.

This song is so Swift coded in the way she formatted the hook and the deep tremble in her vocals during the verses. Her sound in this song was slightly more profound than we are used to in her other songs, which was a surprisingly lovely contrast.

Abrams truly shows her depth in this single. The verbiage is excellent, her symbolism is rich and filled with exciting riddles. “Death Wish” is the perfect song for anyone who’s been in love with someone they know will ultimately betray them. If this sound is the beginning of Abrams’ next era, we can’t wait to hear what’s in store!

Lyrics That Stick: “You don’t look the same when I look at you now.

And I used to pretend that it didn’t feel evil.

Your light of a million suns burns through people.

And bridges and cities ‘til ash covers ground.”
