When it comes to the best kept secrets in the music industry, there is a small list of artists. One of those artists happens to be BOTD newcomer, girlmare. With barely any information out on the rising singer, she shines as an enigma with an amazing vocal range. So, who is girlmare? Well, I can’t really tell you. However, I will say her debut single “Oblivion” is the best song I have heard all week.

The song has a nostalgic alternative rock feel that takes me back to the early 2000’s. “Oblivion” is more than a record, it’s an experience. Laced with captivating guitar riffs, lush melodies, and engaging build-ups, the record will have you reminiscing your grunge stage. To me, the record is about going into the unknown but realizing that it’s okay. As people we hate when things are unknown or messy. However, this is an anthemic single about embracing the unknown. girlmare shines as a singer, songwriter, and she has made me a fan. She is everything that the industry is missing.
