Ellur Pulls At Our Heartstrings With Her New Single “Close To You”

Hailing from Halifax, UK, emerging singer/songwriter, Ellur, debuts on our pages with her anthemic new single “Close To You”. Although I’m new to Ellur’s discography, this single alone has me yearning for more. There is a beauty in finding refreshing music that captivates you, and I can truthfully say that she has to be one of my favorite finds as of recent.
On her latest single, the northern indie artist approaches the song with a washy indie vocal style that is reminiscent of the likes of Phoebe Bridgers and Florence Welch. Ellur glides over a steady guitar melody and keeps the consistency of her exceptional voice even as the song turns from an indie-pop song to and indie rock record with the change of percussion pace. Overall, the song is full of lush melodies, smooth yet captivating sonics, and the songwriting is raw and relatable. With that being said, this is one of our favorite songs of the week so make sure to add it to your playlists!
