Hailing from Toronto, teenage singer-songwriter, MICO, has been on a roll this year. After catching our attention with singles such as “make me leave”, “stay”, and “had2do”, he has surprised us again with his new record “down!”.

The single is led by warm melodies meshed with production that blends pop and rock into one. In addition, the chorus is completely out of this world. My favorite parts have to be the guitar solo that comes midway through the track and the crisp bounce of the drums throughout the record. Also, the lyrics stand out due to him discussing how his childlike spirit is wearing down due to adulthood. Overall, the song is a full ensemble off rich sounds, and this single needs to be on your playlists.

Lyrics That Stick:

“I always try to make it right

But I keep coming short”
