For as long as I can remember, Kanye West has played a pivotal role in everyone’s musical experience. Whether it’s his crazy antics or album rollouts, Kanye West has risen to the top with his ability to create music that changes the landscape of all genres. The first album I really listened to was “Graduation”, and that album made me understand his genius. After listening to all of his albums and really appreciating his craft, Kanye has continued to win me over and many others due to his ability to push the boundaries of music and give us songs that have been the soundtrack to our lives. Now, as he prepares to build hype around his new album “Donda”, Kanye has taken a different tactic to promote the album.
After renting out a space in Mercedes Benz Stadium, he has taken time to perfect an album that I believe will stand the test of time. With his ability to create a stir around his music, Kanye has taken the last month to do multiple live stream concerts and build anticipation for his forthcoming album. Last night, the global star gifted fans a Livestream of “Donda” to show the progression of the album, and I must say it’s everything I wanted and more.
The album sounds like a mixture of “MBDTF”, “The Life Of Pablo”, and pieces of “Jesus Is King”, and I must say it is beautiful. Kanye found a way to bridge a gap between the sporadic production of TLOP, the amazing features of MBDTF, and the gospel instrumentation of Jesus Is King.
From what I can tell, one of Rap’s favorite stars has finally come back home. Kanye seems more focused than ever, and the music I heard from the live stream only proves my thinking. The production is phenomenal, and the songs feel like the hungry Kanye I heard as a kid. I am truly excited for the album, and I can only say that this is one of the most anticipated albums of the year. If you’re asleep and live under a rock, you need to wake up and realize that the king is back. With that being said, if you have time, watch the live stream on Twitch.
