Were you looking for a soundtrack to your summer? We got you covered. KINFU is the Minneapolis-based artist that, with the release of his debut single, is already making major noise nationwide. ‘CLEMENTINES’ is the name this eclectic, pop/funk blend of absolute goodness that’s sure to have you in a good mood from the moment you press play.

What really impresses me about this song is the attention to detail in the songwriting and vocal arrangements. KINFU balances the nature of feel-good lyrics with detailed imagery that sticks with you. Singing about making someone his ‘valentine for cloudy days’ and rocking ‘tall socks with the slides’ just screams summertime! Not to mention his insanely smooth voice that seems to glide over the beat so perfectly.

On top of the stand-out songwriting, this Alex Kimball production brings an added layer of energy and depth with those creamy chord progressions and natural bounce brought about by the space created. Overall, this one is going to turn some heads this year. If you haven’t listened yet, now is your queue to do so!

Lyrics That Stick:

“Touchdown, I’m in uptown

Thinking where ya at

Give me 5”
