maxime.- “talk to me”
After an impressive 2022, maxime. has continued to put out quality work. With a sound that blends multiple genres, the rising singer has continued to build on his cult like following. maxime. is a pure artist that pushes the boundaries, and his experimentation has only propelled his overall sound. Now, after releasing his EP's "cherry stems" & "mile end (kiss ur friends)", maxime. is back with his latest single "talk to me". The single is the first release from the Canadien's upcoming album "the life and death of a dog". With elements of Bedroom Lo-fi Pop, Lo-fi Rock, and Alt-Rock, the single is laced with infectious lyrics and distortion that give it that nostalgic touch. I'm also a fan of the lively bass and the dynamic sonics. Overall, this is one of my favorite finds of the year.
Ezra Wood- “TRUTH”
Enchanting, mesmerizing, and infectious are all words that come to mind when describing Ezra Wood's latest single "TRUTH". With it's early 2000's Y2K influence, the record is laced with sensible lyrics and dynamic sonics. To be honest, it feels like a single Justin Timberlake or Pharrell would have made back then. Ezra's smooth vocals and infectious melodies make this single a true success. "TRUTH" is a song that depicts falling in love at first sight, and it details the acts of love needed to build a strong relationship when you know you are made for someone. Overall, I have become a huge fan of how Ezra crafts singles full of emotion and fun. He is a true hidden gem.
HOAX- “into the blackhole”
If you have been looking for a record to soundtrack your summer, look no further. Hailing from Queens, NY, emerging indie pop-rock band, HOAX, enter our pages with their captivating new single "into the blackhole". The record is a pop-rock masterclass full of lush melodies, engaging guitar riffs, and a hook that is made for late summer nights. HOAX is innovative, and they have an exceptional sound that I would describe as "empathy pop" with a nostalgic feel. Growing up listening to bands such as the Temper Trap, Arctic Monkeys, and Two Door Cinema Club, I have a soft spot for bands that create music like this. They are the beautiful sound of sadness. Overall, this is a must-listen record.
Morning Silk- “Find Your Place”
Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, alternative indie rock project, Morning Silk, have been captivating listeners with their ability to craft infectious records that blend elements of psychedelic and lo-fi rock. Led by vocalist Frank Corr, the band debut on our pages with their latest single "Find Your Place". The record is laced with warm sonics, introspective lyrics, and a hook that will have you yearning for more. For anyone that has had trouble fitting in, this is the perfect single to listen to. From chill to explosive elegant guitar melodies, and hooky vocals, this song explores the journey of an extrovert turned introvert. "Find Your Place" is a dynamic record perfect for sunset drives in the summer. Vibe to the record below.
Patrick Moss ft. Eddie Pillz- “Coast to Coast”
I know it might be cliché to say this, but I think I might have found the song of the summer. Making his BOTD debut, rising artist Patrick Moss has us in awe with his anthemic new single "Coast to Coast" featuring Eddie Pillz. The single is Patrick's 3rd release, and it details the idea of going back to an old partner after a breakup. The record features great performances from both artists, and Eddie's vocals are a nice touch to the record. So, stream the single below and vibe out!
bred- “target”
When it comes to current music artists, it feels like many lack the "mystery" or "mystic" that we saw from previous generations. Everyone has to know what their favorite artist is doing at all times. As a creator myself, I have always been a fan of artists that were enigmas. There is something about knowing little about an artist that drives me to connect with their art even more. This week, I was happy to come across an artist that I feel is letting the music do the talking, and his name is "bred". Although I'm new to his sound, bred debuts on our pages with his latest single "target". The single is about feeling like your significant other in a relationship targets you with their anger/frustration when they are having their own problems outside of the relationship. This is a truly relatable topic. Over the engaging guitar riffs, bred's vocals shine. He evokes raw emotions with his exceptional vocal delivery and genuine lyrics. The young artist truly impressed me with this record, and he deserves to be heard. Stream the record below.
