badmonsham - “Sometimes”

We’ve all felt stuck in our ways before, struggling to decide which path to take, feeling the weight of commitment. This experience, the rut, is as indescribable as it is universal, but Florida artist badmonsham exorcises those demons elegantly in his latest release. The genre-fluid, multi-talented singer/songwriter/rapper/auteur looks inward and upward on his sophomore single, the relentlessly, hauntingly beautiful, “Sometimes.”
The track’s intimate analysis of the rising star’s upbringing in Davenport, weaving through the trials and tribulations of life in pursuit of his dream, frustrated to find himself still in his hometown with high school shrinking in his rear-view mirror, is sure to strike a chord in thousands if not millions of future fans. I’m not typically the type to let people tell my story, but “Sometimes” speaks to that mental state of stagnation more eloquently than I could ever hope to.
“Sometimes is about my daily battles as a young man living in my hometown. [I was] constantly in my head about what the next move is, and if I was 100% ready to act on it.”

The Daycare-signee burst onto the scene last month, with his late-August debut, “Jumpin’ in the Rain” opening to a positively hungry fan-base. About to crack 50,000 streams on Spotify alone, badmonsham must be tuned into the right frequency. He’s checked every box since release one.
He’s shown us a refined and consistent aesthetic, a wide range of talents, and a true understanding of what affects us - all on just two releases. The only thing I don’t like about badmonsham’s is that he hasn’t put out more music. But then again, he wasted no time between these first two tracks, so he’s one step ahead of me there, too.
You might want to check out badmonsham, unless you want all your friends to get hip to him without your help. With the BabyJake-produced “Sometimes” premiering on Spotify’s New Music Friday, it’s only a matter of time before badmonsham takes over the industry. I’d add “Sometimes” to my queue sooner than later if I were you.
Lyrics That Stick:
“I was out here tryna move with my shaky eyes
Life or death what do you choose like you taking sides
No one has been taking mine
Rolling like it’s camera time
they can’t touch but let M C like it’s Hammer time”
