Since the world seems to be opening back up, it feels like life is being restored to many across the world. Music festivals are back, sporting events are allowing fans in, and people are being able to go back to some of the daily routines they had before the pandemic began. With that being said, it is so great to see the music industry back in full swing. It feels like Christmas due to all the releases, albums, and festivals we are getting at the moment. One release I have been anticipating for awhile is ‘The Most Beautiful Disaster’ by TheHxliday.
‘The Most Beautiful Disaster’ is a double-sided EP that feels inspired by so many different genres all in one. In addition, the project is an incredible reflection of the versatility of the rising star. Our favorites from the EP have to be ‘MiSSed Calls’ and ‘A New Life’. Although they both come from “Side A”, those songs show so much promise and really set the tone for the rest of the project. Driven by ambient sounds meshed with trap drums. TheHxliday lets it ring on ‘A New Life’. The song is a vibe filled with emotion and swagger. In addition, my favorite off the project has to be ‘MiSSed Calls’. ‘MiSSed Calls’ serves as the longest record on the project, and it is the most complete sounding song sonically. TheHxliday’s vocals seem more experimental and the songwriting is sublime. Overall, the song is so good that you will forget that four minutes had gone by. With that being said, if you have half an hour open in your busy schedules, click play on one of the most cohesive and experimental projects I have heard all year.
Favorite Song: MiSSed Calls
Lyrics That Stick:
”Bae, I lied just for you
I despised them for you
And I love to feel you”
