Mesmerizing, captivating, and nostalgic are all words that describe San Cisco’s new album “Under The Light”. Hailing from Australia, the indie-band have been turning heads with a sound that can be described as euphoric while also bringing all the nostalgia. The three-piece band are known for making heady music that will make you want to dance the night away. Now, they debut on our pages with their groundbreaking album.

“Under The Light” is an 11-track masterpiece. It is timeless, cohesive, and I loved the sonic arrangement of each song. The album feels like Summer. For me, this album takes me back to the Summer before college. The uncertainty of my future mixed with the rush of exploring a new world is what this music feels like to me.

On their fifth studio album, the band balance euphoria and melancholy. Although they bring their vibrant sun-drenched sonics, they also tackle harder topics that show their growth & maturity. Each record builds on the one before, and the vocals are exceptional from track to track. The album is a pick-me up, and it radiates with positive energy.

My favorite records were “Under The Light”, “Summer Days”, & “Honeycomb”. The title track “Under The Light” is laced with lush melodies, engaging instrumentation, and a hook that will be stuck in your head. San Cisco collaborated with producer Anthony Dolhai (Carly Rae Jepson & Kesha) on this record to further explore their notable synth-pop sound. “Summer Days” is a warm track laced with more introspective lyricism. The record touches on themes of letting go. My personal favorite was “Honeycomb”. I loved the experimental sonics and overall pacing. In addition, I can’t get “You’re sweet as honey” out of my head. Overall, this is one of my favorite projects of the year. If I could choose an album to soundtrack my life, it would have to be this. San Cisco has impressed me so stream their new album below!
