INTERVIEW with PuddaH - yom!

Teaneck, New Jersey native PuddaH has been creating an entire genre of his own in the relative obscurity of the New York SoundCloud scene. With plenty to explore in his discography, the eclectic songwriter keeps fans guessing with every release. Long after teasing the highly anticipated follow-up to the cult favorite album, Oneway!, the rising rapper instead dropped a three-track EP, yom! this past week on the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur.
The spontaneous, mysterious rapper linked with producers Killa Kellz and bakedboi to create the three gems, “big bootyho3,” “trapouttt,” and the LPZ-featuring “3.5.” Visual direction is a constant drive of PuddaH’s and the recently released video for “trapouttt” is only the latest successful collaboration between the rapper and his videographer oceansfourteenth. Banger Of The Day got the chance to sit down with PuddaH, or Serge, and pick his brain about the project - as well as the tracks he’s teased in yom!’s deluxe edition, yom! (kippur).

How does yom! fit into your catalogue? Does it continue the trend of any past projects?
yom! is a new me. with each project i drop u can hear & feel da growth. every-time i drop somethin. a older banger re-enters da world in a new life. i strongly feel its cuz ma music is timeless. u can listen 2 “LA party freestyle” right now & it fits into 2020.
Your music is full of a spur-of-the-moment vibe and style, how do you prepare yourself emotionally for your recording sessions?
i prepare maself. by having ma team with me. as long as i have cor blanco in da stu with me i’ll be fine. ma team is ma favorite ppl 2 work with. its always epic when either cor blanco & or @killakillakellz links up. u see those names on ma music u know its a goodie! on god.
Visual clarity is another constant across your music, at what point in a song’s creation do visuals enter the discussion
@oceansfourteenth is ma videographer. we always plot on new ways 2 keep afloat. rn we have our foot on their necks. we cant ease up now. from just prepare 2 see more art from us for a while.
How do you want yom! to make fans feel? What made you name this tape yom! And drop it on Yom Kippur?
i want “yom!” 2 inspire ppl. make ppl wana go do better. but also make ppl just remember 2 have fun & love what u do. don’t matter what ur doing as long as ur having fun & love doing it just make sure ur da best at whatever it is ur doing! i dropped “yom!” on yom kippur because i was raised in a hebrew household. i’m not a religious person, but i have ma relationship with da highpower & he knows where ma heart is.
