Have you ever listened to an artist that made you fall in love with music again? If so, what made them stand out amongst the thousands of artists releasing songs daily? For me, I believe that artists that create music to push the boundaries and elevate the overall feel and sound are the ones that should be celebrated. This week, I came across an artist that impressed me with their ability to shine amongst their peers. His name is Pierce. Hailing from Ohio, the versatile artist has garnered industry attention due to his ability to craft captivating and engaging records. He has this innate ability to pour his own life into his songs and that makes him relatable to all that listen. Now, he enters our pages with his latest project Phoenix Party, Vol 1.

Phoenix Party, Vol 1 is a collaborative project that is made to perfection. Pierce takes listeners on a sonic journey full of laid-back beats, prolific flows, raw lyricism, and the storytelling is iconic. For me, there is a beauty in hearing the passion and raw emotion of an artist over 9 well-crafted songs. Pierce is more than an artist. He is a pioneer of the next generation of dreamers and artists that are still making music for the love of it.

When it comes to the overall sound, I loved the song structure, cohesion, and vocal performances on each song. Every artist played their part and the production was exceptional. The production complimented the vocals and allowed the captivating vocal tones of Pierce and his collaborators to shine. Pierce is a revolutionary artist and this project proves that. My favorite songs were “Dense”, “I Am a Revolutionary”, & “Enemies in the Room”.

Although it is still early in the year, this has been a genre-defying album that deserves to be heard by all. This album is what I consider “REAL” music.
