Hailing from Kansas City, MO, progressive rock band, Lorraine-Dietrich, is a band that needs to be in your rotation. After a run of impressive releases, they land on our page with their new album “Swim For Shore”.

“Swim for Shore" is a refreshing and evocative album that transports listeners to a world of dreamy landscapes and introspective melodies. With each track, Lorraine-Dietrich weaves a sonic tapestry that is both intimate and expansive, inviting listeners to lose themselves in its lush soundscapes.

From the moment the first notes of "Expectation" wash over you, it's clear that this is an album that defies easy categorization. Drawing from a diverse array of influences, Lorraine-Dietrich creates a sound that is uniquely their own. The result is a collection of songs that feels simultaneously familiar and groundbreaking, with each track offering something new and unexpected.

To put the creation process into perspective, the album took the band two & a half years to complete. This is what they had to say about their title track “Swim For Shore”:

“Swim For Shore" was the most difficult song for us to record due to the fills at the beginning. We also couldn't decide on how the drums should sound on this track. This album features Peter Grebenyuk on guitar/vocals, Logan Fancolly on bass, and Joseph Cooper on drums.

At the heart of the album are hauntingly beautiful vocals, which soar above the music with a delicate intensity. Whether whispering softly over a hushed acoustic guitar or belting out a soaring chorus, the vocals are captivating, drawing listeners in with their raw emotion and vulnerability.

Lyrically, "Swim for Shore" is equally captivating, exploring themes of love, loss, and longing with a poet's precision. Each song is a snapshot of a moment in time, a glimpse into the depths of the human experience that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable.

In the end, "Swim for Shore" is a testament to the power of music to transport and transform. With its lush melodies, haunting vocals, and evocative lyrics, it's an album that lingers in the mind long after the final notes have faded away. For fans of indie music that pushes the boundaries of genre and convention, "Swim for Shore" is not to be missed.
