Over the last few years, we have seen a shift in the music industry. With algorithms and streaming services, I have felt like it has become harder & harder to find genre-defying artists that are pioneering the next generation. However, I recently came across an artist that has all the qualities to become a burgeoning star. His name is J.Switay.

J.Switay is a genre-defying artist that is pioneering the new generation of music artists. He is raw, relatable, and his sound is captivating. Now, he enters our pages with his debut album “30 Years Down And All I Have To Show For It Is This Album”. This is what he had to say about the album:

“I've spent the last 8-9 months working on this album. There are a bit of features, but the album was entirely produced and engineered by me. This album is very personal to me and reflects my life. I didn't necessarily want all the tracks to be about specific things that happened to me, I wanted the tracks to reflect the emotions I've felt over the years. I thought that might be more relatable.”

“30 Years Down And All I Have To Show For It Is This Album” is a 12-track masterpiece that proves to be J.Switay’s magnum opus. From his vocal cadences to his production, J.Switay rises to the occasion. The album is refreshing, and it blends elements of pop & r&B with hip-hop undertones. My favorite songs from the album were “Sly”, “Euphoria”. “Sly” is a bouncy record that is made for the summer. I loved the 808s and the hook is infectious. J.Switay & Solomon Banks were exceptional on this record. “Sly” is a bright song that shows Switay’s versatility, and it is my personal favorite. If you are new to Solomon Banks, this is the song that I would play to introduce you to him. “Euphoria” is a captivating single that is laced with heavy influences of EDM and Vaporwave. The melodies will have you in a trance, and the overall feel of the song is cinematic. I loved his vocal effects on the verses, and I think it was genius to go with a distorted hook on this one.

If you are looking for an artist that has that “IT” factor, look no further. J.Switay is the best emerging artist at the moment so stream his debut below!
