Who knew you could fit so many different styles and so much energy into just 8 songs. This project from Leland is serving as a benchmark for other artists hoping to blur the line between hip-hop, conscious rap, modern pop, and RnB music.

Song to song, I was left wondering how Leland isn’t a household name yet. I got some of the maddest melodies in songs like ‘Is It Over… Or…’ and ‘Don’t Wait Up,’ while also getting a glimpse of this dude’s insane wordplay and rap flow in ‘BIG BET’ and ‘Thomas’ Story.’ The versatility is honestly unmatched, and each style was executed to the fullest of quality.

This project will definitely be on heavy rotation in the weeks to come. Give it a listen if you haven’t yet!

Favorite Song: Thomas’ Story

Lyrics That Stick:

”Sleeping under bridges

Writing lyrics in my head

Trynna prove to everybody

I won’t wind up how they said”
