Dex Channels Shines On His Latest Album, “Angels on Dorscher”

If you are looking for an artist that is set to have a major 2024, look no further. Hailing from Orlando, Florida, emerging rapper-songwriter, Dex Channels, has taken the industry by storm. He is raw, captivating, and his vocal delivery is exceptional. From an area that has seen artists like Tyla Yaweh, Hotboii, and Danny Towers elevate, Channels is the next up. Now, he debuts on our pages with his impressive new album “Angels on Dorscher”.
“Angels on Dorscher” is a captivating 12-track album that blends elements of Rap, Alternative Hip-Hop, Alternative R&B, and even elements of Gospel. Sonically, this is one of the best projects I have heard this year. The album is cohesive, and each song builds on the next. In addition to the stellar production, I loved the storytelling. This album tells the story of a lost soul navigating inner city life and obstacles. Paying homage to his hometown, the project highlights the themes of diverse cities, and it explores themes of love, tribulations, and faith!
My favorite songs from the album were the title track “Angels on Dorscher” & “Halo”. The title track is carried by a harmonious piano, lush melodies, and raw lyricism that evokes raw emotions. I loved how free flowing the songs was and the storytelling and themes discusses were introspective. “Halo” is a euphoric record that is carried by soulful samples, jazzy instrumentation, and an uplifting vibe. Sonically, I loved the vocal mix and the overall feel was futuristic.
Overall, this is one of my favorite projects of the year. So, stream the album below and vibe out!
