Chris Portka Releases The Vinyl For His Daring Album “trash music”

Chris Portka has been one of my favorite artists that I have discovered this year. He is raw, captivating, and daring. His music is an extension of himself, and I consider his sound to be expansive. Hailing from the Bay Area, he has continued to cultivate a sound that is expressive and imaginative. With a soundscape that draws influence from 90s grunge & alternative, he explores themes of angst, dread, and triumph. A little over two months ago, I had the pleasure of covering his sonic masterpiece “trash music”. “trash music” is a 12-track album full of noisy noise, swirling swirls, and speaker-shredding sound that is likely unlike anything you’ve ever heard. It is my guilty pleasure that I just can’t let go of.

Now, Chris Portka returns with his vinyl release of the album. Going live today, the vinyl release of “trash music” is his first album released on vinyl. Currently, the vinyl will be released in select stores and limited copies available for online purchase. So, if you are someone that is looking for a sonic journey that will change your very existence, then you need to get “trash music” on vinyl. After hearing the masterpiece on Spotify, it only makes me want the physical copy even more. The album is timeless, and I hope to carry a piece of him with me.
