BabyJake - Don’t give me problems, give me wine (Album Review)

After releasing his single, ‘Head In the Clouds,’ we were way too excited for the whole project to come out. Most times, when we have such high expectations for an album, it’s hard for us to be satisfied if it’s not everything we hoped for. Well, in BabyJake’s case, it was more than we could hope for. ‘Don’t give me problems, give me wine’ is easily one of the best albums we’ve heard all year.
The range on this thing is crazy. That first song is a full-on bop that feels reminiscent of some old Elton John or new Mt. Joy. Then you have songs like ‘(Consumption)(Addiction)’ that are so uniquely composed, it reminds us of how listening to a new Frank Ocean record feels. Lastly, the project is capped off with a track called ‘Anywhere’ that just might be the most beautiful, masterfully-soulful track we’ve heard in a long time.
We know this sounds like a bunch of super bold statements, but once you listen to this, you’ll understand. And even though we compared his songs to the likes of other artists, one thing is for certain; BabyJake is unlike any other right now!

Lyrics That Stick:
“No more giving up
Cause giving up’s
Easier than working through”
